Almaty Cold Storage Facility – Kazakhstan
1. Project Overview
This large-scale cold storage facility, located in Almaty, Kazakhstan, was designed and constructed to accommodate a total storage capacity of 15,500 tons (equivalent to 58,000 m³).
Despite the project’s scale, it was successfully completed within a tight 60-day schedule, demonstrating exceptional coordination, planning, and supply chain efficiency.
The facility incorporates multi-temperature storage zones equipped with advanced Controlled Atmosphere (CA) technology, ensuring long-term preservation of both fresh produce and frozen products under optimal conditions.
2. Core Requirements
Large-Scale Storage Capacity
-
Designed to handle up to 15,500 tons of food products.
-
Reinforced building structure and high-performance refrigeration systems with strong cooling capacity.
-
Optimized internal layout for efficient logistics flow and high-volume handling.
Multi-Temperature Cold Rooms
1. Chilled Storage Zone (-2°C to +5°C):
-
Dedicated for root vegetables such as potatoes, onions, carrots, and beets.
-
Provides a stable temperature and high-humidity environment, minimizing chilling injury and water loss.
2. Variable Temperature / Freezer Zone (+20°C to -20°C):
-
Flexible configuration allows switching between frozen storage (-18°C to -20°C) for fish, poultry, and other frozen goods, or chilled/ambient mode to meet seasonal demand.
-
Maximizes space utilization and enhances economic efficiency year-round.
Adaptability & Reliability
-
Engineered for Kazakhstan’s continental climate, capable of withstanding both hot summers and extremely cold winters.
-
Installed with international-brand refrigeration systems, ensuring long-term stability, energy efficiency, and easy access to local after-sales service.
