Reduce oxygen, raise carbon dioxide, and hold apple, kiwi, pear and strawberry inventory across the selling season. Packhouse CA rooms — not household cabinets.
Controlled atmosphere storage is a gas-management problem sitting on top of a cold room. Howcool’s published method is straightforward: reduce O₂, increase CO₂, hold temperature and humidity to the crop, and partition the building so rooms can be opened one at a time. Solutions copy cites 6–12 months of extended holding for apple, kiwi, pear and strawberry as a class — project pages give the crop-specific numbers you should put in a bid.
This is industrial CA for packhouses, not a consumer “controlled atmosphere crisper.” Rooms are built from PU sandwich panels with CA doors and pressure-equalisation valves, served by industrial refrigeration (Hanbell screw parallel is documented on the North China 1,643 m² facility) and monitored through the same PLC/HMI stack used on Howcool logistics sites.
Howcool has delivered CA work in Dandong, North China and Kazakhstan, and maintains a dedicated live page at controlled-cold-rooms.html. Full EPC — design, panels, plant, doors, install — follows the solutions workflow: preliminary design in 24 hours, drawings and quote in 3–5 days, manufacture 20–30 days.
1,000 t strawberry CA · 12 rooms · 0–2℃
Building 55 × 18 × 4.5 m. Atmosphere cited on the project: O₂ 2–3%, CO₂ 10–15%, 90–95% RH. Holding from 7–10 days to 60+ days for that crop.
Only rooms that appear on the live project index. Kazakhstan 500 t CA is the solutions figure; the homepage also lists a separate Kazakhstan 20,000-ton logistics store.
12 partitions, 0–2℃, 55 × 18 × 4.5 m. Cooperative packhouse duty.
